Writing 50 Books On One Subject, Sold At Same Price?Thursday, September 16, 2004
» Filed Under: Marketing Observations
It's about 1am, my right hand is swollen, my pinky is about to turn black and fall off, but, I had to get this off my chest before I go to bed, or I'll be thinking about it until I fall asleep. A newbie posted on a marketing forum asking a well known JV marketer... why did he have to write over 50 JV 'how-to' ebooks, where one promises to show you how to make thousands per day via JV... another is advertised as the "only JV manual you'll ever need", while another is pushed as the "Most Comprehensive JV Manual." They weren't even priced at different brackets (low, medium, high-ticket). It wasn't a collection or series - they were all sold independently from each other. They were written by the same person, on the same subject, sold at the same price. Wouldn't that confuse everyone? My question is... Why market your product as the "most comprehensive" and promote another product on the same subject as the "only manual you'll need"? I don't get it. Maybe it's this excruciating pain in my hand... I'm going to be thinking about this until I fall asleep.

I have started unsubscribing from newsletters where the publishers send me one ad after another for different products that do the same thing. Too many sales letters, too little useful content. Posted by: Lindsay on September 16, 2004 04:26 PMSubscribe to Follow-Up Comments:
