What Am I Supposed To Do With This RSS Thing?Thursday, January 06, 2005
I recently received an e-mail from Kathleen, a 'silent' MCD (Marketing Chick Diary) reader... Carmen, Thanks for reading my blog, Kathleen! There are several ways to keep updated of new posts. My favorite is Sage: A lightweight RSS and ATOM feed aggregator. It's an extension for Mozilla Firefox, so, I don't need to have separate software running just for reading blogs and other feeds. You can also use a really cool software called FeedDemon to access your favorite RSS feeds. It's similar to a browser, and very simplet to use. I used this before finding Sage, and I think it's the best RSS reader I've tried. If you'd prefer to read the blogs you most frequent from one website, give BlogLines or My Yahoo! a try. To use the above methods, simply copy my feed (below) and paste it into your preferred reader: http://www.marketingchick.com/blog/index.rdf Wasn't that easy?! Now, whenever I post a new entry, you will see it in your software. You might also want to give KlipFolio a spin... not only can you keep your eye on the MarketingChick.com Diary klip with it, but, it can can also monitor your e-mail accounts, stocks, auctions, download other klips, and more! I'm just beginning to see just how powerful this technology is... I've been updating my IMSN site to reflect this. But, for those of you who are newer to RSS than I am, I hope you found this little bit of info helpful : )
