Snapping out of Mark Joyner's spellFriday, August 15, 2003
» Filed Under: Networking
No, I'm not going to hypnotize Mark into revealing some truth about his products and services, nor am I inviting him to a hokey public challenge. By now, I'm sure you've heard of Mark's new program... The Free Agent Path. He's not pushing his own products or services this time, he's gotten into network marketing. Before I go on, let me make it clear that I don't agree with all that Mark is trying to "teach" here (gasp! no! you so didn't say that!)... but, I have to give it to him... he's incredibly clever and there are lessons to be learned. I'll tell you in a minute. While this program was still in its "beta" stage, he invited about 100 or so "leaders" to each organize a Master Mind team of 12 people. In 2 weeks, he had approximately 6,000 people signed up in this program. That's 6,000 people on his list within 2 weeks.
When you first access your account, you immediately see that he aggressively encourages the participants to build friendships with their team (downline)... get to know each other, and offer help. So, here we are, building trust and a friendly relationship with one another (all the while, asking, "what program are we going to promote?"). Okay, let me go on. Mark held the first live call on 8/13. Joe Vitale was interviewing him to get a clearer picture of what this is all about. He talked about how your job is a form of slave income. You're a slave to your boss and the hours you keep. I AGREE. A good majority of people dream of quitting their office jobs and saying "good bye" forever to their boss. They want freedom. He also touched on how our health, jobs, and television draws us in and keeps us in a vicious slave cycle: Work til you're tired, go home and relax in front of the TV, where we are encouraged to eat unhealthy foods and buy unnecessary things, leaving us with no energy and deep in debt. I agree with this as well, but, only if you're so impressionable that you let what's on TV dictate how you think and live your life... ie. you have no control over what you nourish your body with, or how and where you spend your money. Sorta like the "Beavis and Butthead made my kids start a fire" incident a while back... Then, he explained why owning your own business is also a form of slave income. You're a slave to your business, your customers, your employees, your products and services. He DISCOURAGED everyone from starting/building their own business. Tell me... if you've always wanted to start/build/live off of your own business, if you have passion for all that you do... no matter how much *time* you invest in what you're doing, wouldn't you be happy? How can he tell you *not* to follow your dreams? Are all of Mark's friends going drop their businesses and customers to pursue the FAP program *exclusively*? (Although I've heard *rumors* of at least one marketing heavy-hitter walking away from his business to do this...) Mark said *his* business didn't give him freedom, and that's the reason he's turned to network marketing... but, if Mark got a chance at building a multimillion dollar business, why can't others have a shot at it too? And, if owning your business, whether you have employees or not, is considered slave income, wouldn't we be "slaves" to everyone under us in this program? Aren't we obligated to "be there" to give support and guidance? How can we, in good conscience, just walk away from the business knowing there are people in our team counting on us? Here's where I think his genius shines... He tells you to build a strong bond, a tight friendship with your team even *before* he announce the income streams. Think about it, once you build a group of people with whom you become "intimate" with, you wouldn't want to let them down by abandoning them... and even if you *haven't* established a relationship yet, you wouldn't just drop a group of people who may be able to make you some money, would you? The *really good* part... this program teaches you to become an effective leader and gain awareness to how you can help those who count on you... how to make your team's best interest your priority. And if I can earn an extra $25,000 with FAP like it says I can, while I help others to become leaders and learn to network effectively, then I'm for it. (The $ amount above is not accurate... if you signed up, you'll know why.) Mark Joyner is advanced military training, plus, marketing and networking prodigy at work in front of our very eyes. Simply observing him build and conduct his business is a powerful business building lesson on its own. So, if you want a free marketing/networking lesson from a pro and earn an auto-pilot income doing it... I recommend this program. Just don't let it turn you into a zombie and discourage you from following your dreams of starting *your own* business. Instead, invest what you earn here into your own dreams and make it your reality!

I replied to your email and it kicked it back...I will see if I can forward it to you. Though, you answered my question about direction via this post... Posted by: Jonathon on August 19, 2003 12:31 AMYeah, I found that annoying... when someone sends you a message from within the FAP system, you're supposed to reply by logging into your account too. Where's the email, Jonathon? Posted by: Carmen on August 19, 2003 09:52 AMI'm lookin, I'm lookin... Posted by: Jonathon on August 19, 2003 04:54 PMCarmen nooooooo! (snapping fingers) Wake up! Wake up! (clapping hands) Are you in a famous Joe Vitale hypnotic marketing spell? (tap dancing wildly) Cash Evolution... Cash Evolution... Mark Joyner Farewell Package... Mike "The Thong" Chen... Do you really think that Joe Vitale doesn't know what is going on? Marketing babe, he is part of the hype. Wait and see... Posted by: Jason Cain on August 21, 2003 06:29 AMI'm confused :s Didn't MJ recently sell 2,000 packages to people who wanted to set up their own online businesses? Didn't that package include a lot of audio explaining how to set up and marketing your own products and services online? Didn't he include lots of "source code" to provide the foundation for those 2,000 people to become online entrepreneurs? But now he's recommending joining his downline in another MLM programme... Mmmm "Curiouser and curiouser" said the cat ;) Posted by: John Taylor on August 21, 2003 05:02 PMVery funny, Jason : ) I know Mark's making this program out to be *the* best thing since edible underwear, but I'm only interested in helping others as I pick up a few tricks here and there (and if I make an extra buck - yay me!). It's fascinating for me to watch this all unfold... zero pressure marketing, that can help build your business as well as benefit your clients - if used ethically. So, don't worry, I practice my due diligence and remain to be completely unbiased. P.S. I'm very impressed by your wild tap dancing, maybe I should reconsider the open bar ; ) Posted by: Carmen on August 21, 2003 08:02 PMHi John, Welcome, and very nice to see you here : ) Don't let Mark's activities confuse you. He may have sold 2,000 or more of those packages, but he knows the majority of people who bought it, no matter how much they spent, WILL NOT do anything with it. He's taking advantage of that unfortunate fact. Case in point... the Joe Kumar book. How many of the thousands of people who purchased the book, have actually made money... enough to save them from eviction, within 30 days of buying the book? See? How many of the "gurus" you see now have announced a new book they claim is filled to the brim with marketing secrets to make you a gazillionaire... only to announce another "must have to succeed" ebook, teleseminar, or membership site, 2 weeks later? It's sad, but these people take advantage of other's needs to find something else... something better... it's marketing ADD. Mark's moved past the 2,000 people who got the package anyway... now he's got his eye on all 150,000,000+ people surfing the Internet. He's looking at world domination - seriously. Watch and learn from it all... just be careful not to turn into an MJ zombie ; ) Posted by: Carmen on August 21, 2003 08:44 PMAloha Carmen, Edible underwear? Now there is a marketing idea! Does that mean we get to hire the Vic Secret girls to model them? You know, I have a thing for that cute blond. The one with the freckles in the last catalog. Ask Al. He will point her out! ;) I am not really into white chicks (having spent much of my life in the Pacific), but that girl I would make an exception for! Mmmm... peaches and cream flavor. =) Aloha, Jason Posted by: Jason Cain on August 22, 2003 03:58 AMA thing for just that *ONE* cute blond, Jason? LOL? Those VS women are absolutely beautiful! My motivation to stick to my daily Pilates routine and trying hard to eat somewhat right : ) Won't waste my breath asking Al about it tho... he's got eyes only for me!! Shut up... it's my site. I get to believe whatever I want to believe. : ) Posted by: Carmen on August 23, 2003 12:22 PMSubscribe to Follow-Up Comments:
