Six Degrees of - Google?

Saturday, May 01, 2004

Seriously, what on earth is TouchGraph actually showing you?

Joe "Mr. Fire" Vitale said, "It creates a visual of all the sites linking to your site thru Google."

While Jason "Mr. Goldblogger" Cain said, "It creates a visual map of all the sites linking to your websites."

Well, it shows you that sometimes, reading the instructions *can* really clear things up. lol!

touchgraph.com
Double Click to build up the graph. Double clicking adds more nodes to the screen by retrieving similar-page results from Google.

The added nodes correspond to the search results listed when one enters a URL into Google and and then clicks on the "Similar to" link.

Further, sites connected to you via "red" edge are those that appear on the similar page lists when a user searches for your site, while the "blue" edge indicates the reverse - where your site appears on their similar page.

Pretty cool... and welcome back, Jason : )
