MT Dilemma - How to Rebuild without Re-pinging?

The post previous to this one contained a "ping" to the Brand Autopsy blog... I noticed a typo in my entry, and being the neurotic that I am, had to make the correction, and when I saved the entry, I see the notice that the script is pinging the site... again.

I checked out Brand Autopsy if the pings 'took', and there they were... three consecutive pings by me.

So, is it just wrong to make corrections to your entry or what? Once you've pinged (or is it pung?) someone, must you continue pinging them when you make minor adjustments to your post?
