How excited and proud I was, that I called up my family to go check out my site at http://some-isp-free-site.net/members/~carmen/index.htm (heh!). And never mind that the page was filled with animated graphics and blinking text… in my head, I was a web designer.

Anyway, one of my old websites contained a “Website Success Checklist” that I guess at one point, have forgotten to carry over to my new designs. So, I’ve added it back.

3. Pinging

   This is when you notify the blog tracking sites that your
   site has been updated with new content. You can notify
   dozens of services whenever you update your site at:

   Or… add the following addresses to your blogging software to send automatic notices each time you post a new entry:

   • http://ping.blo.gs
   • http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping
   • http://ping.weblogalot.com/rpc.php

1. The first is StumbleUpon. Download the toolbar (IE, Netscape, Mozilla/Firefox), select the topics that interest you, and “stumple upon” pages recommended by like-minded people who share your interests.

2. The second… I signed up for BlogExplosion. I admit, I’m not a fan of ‘traffic exchanges’, but, Lynn Terry gave me the ultimatum of “join BlogExplosion or run around the block in those jeans that make your butt look awfully wide.” (just kidding – lol!)

I prefer BlogExplosion because you’ll almost immediately see an increase in traffic after you start surfing the member blogs… I’m curious of how many people actually *read* the entries and not just surf to rack up the credits.

They’re both free, so give ‘em a spin!
