Escaping The Electronic Stone Age!

Being the chic marketing dudette that I am, you’d think I do all my work on a state of the art, top of the line computer, wouldn’t you? You would, wouldn’t ya? Huh? Huh? (nudge, nudge)

Unfortunately, no amount of blinging would’ve helped my previous computer to even remotely resemble a desktop in today’s world. Until recently, that is. And you have no idea how excited I am about this… such a geek.

I bought a brand new HP laptop with 100GB hard drive, 1GB DDR SDRAM, Intel® Centrino™ with Intel® Pentium® M, DVD±RW/CD-RW drive, Wireless modem, Windows XP, and other features bringing me back up-to-date. Ohh.. ohhh! And it came with a remote for the DVD & music too!!

I’m totally feelin’ St. Elmo’s fire burnin’ in me!

This is a great event considering I’m upgrading from a Pentium II with Windows 98 and about 200MB RAM. I was spending more time waiting for software to load and run, or getting frustrated with the ‘blue screen‘ that dropped in on me at the worst moments, and having to force quit and restart… which took about 14 years each time with having to go through scan disk and all. UGH!!

I can now have several programs running simultaneously, and it performs much faster and smoother than my old PC. Oh, and the graphics and sound – is gorgeous! And with the DSL service I signed up for last April, I’m an Internet chick on a mission! I’m able to get more work done in less time… well, in my case, more work done, bringing me closer to actually getting caught up! Talk about time management!

And the wireless… probably not suited for a recovering work-a-holic, but for someone like me with about 3 years of work to catch up on… it’s a gift from God. Hallelujah!

Seriously, who has time to waste 2-5 mins here and there, waiting for programs to load? Apparently, I did, but I’m going to get it back.

If you’re working with outdated anything, I recommend upgrading for optimum performance for both your equipment, and your time, money, and SANITY!
