Convert RSS to Email Newsletters Automatically

I’ve already added this to my blog… check it out on the right hand side of this page under “watch me”. Then subscribe to my blog notify list by entering your name and email addy!

With the rise in usage of blogging and RSS it’s important to enable visitors to get updates in the format they want. According to an October 2005 White Paper published by Yahoo, “Awareness of RSS is quite low among Internet users. 12% of users are aware of RSS, and 4% have knowingly used RSS.”

How do you get website updates to visitors who have no idea what RSS is?

Easy…

Use AWeber’s new integrated Feed Broadcaster to allow visitors to sign up for a traditional email newsletter on your blog or other website that uses RSS. The Feed Broadcaster will take your RSS content that is published thru your blog and automatically create an email newsletter sent to subscribers.

How Feed Broadcaster Works:

  • Add the website address for your RSS feed to Feed Broadcaster.

  • Select how many news/story items you would like to be in each newsletter broadcast.
  • Select a pre-designed fancy HTML template and click “Load Template”.
  • Edit the template that is loaded automatically or use as is.

Within one hour AWeber will automatically grab the available RSS content from your feed and queue that content as a new broadcast in review status. You can choose to send those broadcasts or delete them. From that point forward newsletter broadcasts would be sent out to any subscriber on the list automatically when a new story is detected.

Give your website visitors the choice to subscribe and receive your content in the format and method they want.

    Just saw this…

It has been a while since I fired up FeedDemon! =)

I think I will have to add this feature as a separate subscription, coming from a different email address, so that people don’t start “filing” my regular newsletter issues. I like that they associate “Jason Cain” with something they have to OPEN NOW rather than a blog update.

    Know what I mean?

    Aloha,

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

That’s exactly what I did. With the ability to create unlimited autoresponders with Aweber, this feature should be added as a completely separate subscription to avoid overwhelming our subscribers with so many different updates… forcing them to turn a deaf ear (or in this case, a blind eye) to our incoming e-mail messages.
