Installing New Movable Type Plugins
I’ve been checking out some of the new MT 3.11 features, and found that, not only is this a great script with tons of useful features, but, I’m addicted to installing plugins to my MT blog. (I seriously need to get out more.) I hope these new features won’t slow down my blog… since I’m on DSL, I don’t know how quickly it loads for people still on 56K or slower.
Anyway… The famous MT-Blacklist is integrated into MT, to scan incoming comments and trackbacks, along with automatic updates from the master blacklist file. You can also limit the number of URLs in each post, block duplicate submissions, and force moderate comments to old entries.
You can use TypeKey (free) to require registration for those who wish to post a comment on your blog, as well as moderate all comments except from registered users.
I’ve also installed the MT-Notifier plugin which allows visitors to subscribe to followup comments to specific entries. You’re supposed to be able to add a “subscribe to this comment” option to the posting form, but, I haven’t figured that one out yet.
What are your favorite blog features?
