I’m SCREAMIN’ Through the Net!
Mark this day… April 5, 2004.
I finally got my DSL connection!! WHOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!
(And my service was scheduled to go LIVE on the 7th, even!!)
It may sound pathetically pathetic, but, I’ve been waiting for availability from AT&T since 2001, and it just never happened in what seemed like my little dark corner of the world. BOOOOO!!
Now that we’ve moved to the land of the living (ladybugs crawling through the vents and all…), I finally have this wonderful thing called broadband, of which I’ve heard much praise from countless others!!
YAY ME! DOUBLE YAY ME!!
Seems my e-mails are now going through… and I’m receiving what I’m supposed to be getting!
I had ATT Worldnet dial up and they say they’ve got some spam blocking thing-a-ling set up, but, my personal experience is I got most of my spam through their system, than anywhere else…
PLUS, mail I sent through their servers failed to reach the recipients (pissing off my clients and JV partners because they think I don’t reply…), and inbound mail forwarded from alias accounts weren’t delivered, making my life that much more complicated.
Anyway, I’ve done a few tests through my DSL account, and it’s all AWESOME!!! E-mails are getting through, websites seem to just appear on my browser (seriously, without having to wait for it to load!!), downloads and uploads that used to take almost an hour, completes in seconds…
If you’re on dial up and have the opportunity to switch to broadband, I recommend you take the leap! It’ll help you get everything done quicker, so, you can get off the computer and do REAL WORLD things… like, actually step out your front door!!
