We just received an e-mail from Reinmar (my husband’s little brother) who is currently fighting in Iraq. It was one of those, “Good Lord! We’ve made CONTACT!” kinda moment!

I can’t even imagine how his parents must feel… no, I don’t even *want* to imagine it, nor ever experience this firsthand. You don’t know where your child’s exact whereabouts, you can’t just pick up the phone to ask how he’s doing, you can’t be there for him when he’s feeling sick or discouraged…

Oh my God, we’re so proud of him.
